Ludhiana : Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President Sunil Jakhar on Saturday stated that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will fulfill his promise and announce debt relief for farmers in Vidhan Sabha on Monday.
He also targeted opposition parties Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for creating ruckus and disturbing the proceedings of the House during Budget Session.
PPCC president who was in Ludhiana quipped that lakh of farmers will benefit from the debt waiver.
He said that the Congress government had already announced that all the promises made in election manifesto will be fulfilled and both the opposition parties are wasting the precious time of Vidhan Sabha by creating chaos.
Jakhar claimed that AAP and SAD have joined hands against government to interrupt the Budget Session without any reason. Jakhar also questioned the absence of Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia from the House. He said that when the government is ready to discuss the important issues of debt waiver of farmers why senior Akali Dal leaders were absent from the House.
He also questioned the stand of BJP led union government. He said that in Punjab BJP and its alliance partner SAD were demanding relief for farmers but Union minister Arun Jaitley categorically denied any debt waiver for farmers.
Replying to a query on sand mining, PPC president Sunil Jakhar said that during tenure of previous government sand was sold in an illegal manner but now the government has auctioned the sand mines and earned approximately four hundred crores revenue. He said that it will take time for the supply of sand to get regulated and easily available.
