Opposition acted against Code: Speaker

Chandigarh: A day after the budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the Aam Aadmi Party and Lok Insaaf Party tried to disrupt the proceedings of the House by hooliganism in the house and also scuffled with the security personnel therefore they were expelled from the House.
Giving information about this, spokesman of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha said that on June 22, during the Question Hour at 10:30 am, members of Aam Aadmi Party and Lok Insaaf Party created serious hurdles in the question hour proceedings and despite of repeated attempts by the Chair to stop such activities, they did not stop doing so. Due to this the Speaker had to name and suspend the members of Aam Aadmi Party and Lok Insaaf Party for smooth functioning of the remaining proceedings of the House on Thursday.
The spokesman said that during the debate at 11:20 pm, members of the SAD and Bharatiya Janata Party legislators crossed the floor of the house shouting slogans and walked out. Later on the SAD and the Bharatiya Janata Party returned to the House, and entered the well shouting slogans. Due to such unfortunate incidents, members of Aam Aadmi Party, Lok Insaf Party, Shiromani Akali Dal and members of Bharatiya Janata Party have violated the code and rules of conduct in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh expressing anguish over the anarchist activities said that such un-constitutional acts are against the sanctity of the august house. He termed this as black spots on democracy.
