Ex-MLA, four others booked for staging drama

Ferozepur :The local police have booked former BJP MLA and state president of Kissan Morcha Sukhpal Singh Nannu along with his four supporters under several sections of IPC at police station. He had been accused for locking handcuffs on himself with the bars of the lock-up in the police station and intercepting police officials from performing their duty and gathering people to stage an illegal protest opposite the police station City Ferozepur.

Nannu had enacted the drama by wearing handcuffs on himself in the police station on June 1, this year, that he had succeeded to carry with him by dodging the police officials. It also humiliated the police and there was an exchange of very hot words between the police and Nannu also.

Giving more details of the case, the city police station in-charge Satwinder Singh said that the city police had booked Vikramjit Singh aka Gabbar for supplying arms to the accused in a firing incident in which a shopkeeper had been injured badly. The accused Vikaramjit was told to be a worker of BJP leader Nannu and Nannu enacted a drama and handcuffed himself with the handcuffs that he himself had carried with him in the police station. Soon there were exchange of hot words between the police officials and Nannu and the workers who had been gathered by Nannu not only raised slogans against the police as well as the government but also staged a protest outside the police station. Police registered a case under Sections 307, 34, IPC and Articles 25 and 27 Arms Act against Monty and four others. He said that the BJP leader unnecessarily tried to pressurise the police to cancel this FIR and obstructed the police from performing its duty using very hot words and staging dharna outside police station and raised slogans.

The police registered a case under Sections 146, 186, 353 and 506 against Sukhpal Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Surjit Kaur, Darshan Nambar dar and Kikkar Singh former Sarpanch.
