Chandigarh: Congress nominee for post of President Meira Kumar will meet Congress MPs and MLAs of Punjab and Haryana on Sunday. Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, as a part of election campaign, will seek votes for the Congress MPs and MLAs.
Sources disclosed that Kumar will first meet MPs and MLAs from Haryana and then have a meeting with Punjab lawmakers. Former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, who is accompanying the UPA’s Presidential candidate during her campaign in different states, will also be present.
Punjab has 77 MLAs of Congress in the 117-member Punjab assembly in addition to four MP and three Rajya Sabha members.

Haryana BJP and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) have already declared that they are in support of Kovind.
