Muktsar:Taking cognisance of The Tribune report, “Officer probing Lambi grant disbursal shifted” (July 14), Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today directed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Muktsar, Kulwant Singh to submit the inquiry report before taking charge as the ADC (General), Pathankot.
The probe into alleged discrepancies in the disbursal of Rs 40 crore for house repairs in Lambi was nearing completion when the ADC’s transfer order was issued.
The state government had on Wednesday transferred Kulwant Singh, a 2012-batch IAS officer, as the ADC (G), Pathankot with the additional charge of the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Pathankot.
Sumeet Jarangal, Deputy Commissioner, Muktsar, said, “The ADC is expected to submit the report by Tuesday.”
In the run-up to the Assembly polls, the then SAD-BJP government had disbursed the amount, which was then termed by Congress leaders as “a bribe to woo voters”.
