The police have booked Youth Akali Dal (YAD) leaders Prinkle, Gurwinder Singh, Raja Kang, Jangi and 20 unidentified persons.
A case has been registered under section 451 (house-trespass in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment), 454 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment), 380 (theft), 447 (criminal trespass), 511 (attempting to commit offences), 506 (criminal intimidation), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of Indian Penal Code, following the statement of Harpreet Singh, secretary of Akalgarh Market Trust.
On Monday, a group led by former minister and senior Akali Dal leader Hira Singh Gabria claimed that another group supported by YAD district president Gurdeep Singh Gosha tried to take illegal possession of three shops which belongs to Akalgarh Market Charitable Trust.
Contrary to the claims of Gabria, Gosha claimed that Gabria who is the president of the trust has allotted three shops two years ago.
The receipts for the shops were also issued but now the trust office bearers wanted to take the shops back even after taking the money.
