‘To stop copying, centres for ITI exams to be set up only in govt institutes’

Chandigarh : Punjab government is committed to provide quality technical education therefore another stern step has been taken in this regard, now the examination centres for Industrial Training and other such courses would be set up in the government institutes only.

The Technical Education Minister said that the exams of various semesters would be held for the courses of ITTs, Art and Craft and Teachers Training in the examination centres set up in the government ITIs. The Minister said that now the role of private institutes in conducting exams has been minimised to zero. He further said that the total staff deputed for conducting these exams such as superintendent and supervisors would be government employees.

Channi also directed the officers of the department to ensure the surprise checking of all the centers during the examinations.

He also asked the senior officials of the department to ensure that the private technical educational institutes must follow the set norms and guidelines of the government regarding building infrastructure, qualified full staff and other infrastructure facilities to the students.
