Rana Gurjit administers oath of office to PSERC chairperson, member

Chandigarh : Irrigation and Power Minister Rana Gurjit Singh on Thursday administered oath of office and secrecy to Kusumjit Sidhu as Chairperson of Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) and Anjuli Chandra as Member of PSERC.
Sidhu, a retired Punjab Cadre IAS officer of the 1979 batch, and Anjuli Chandra, a retired Chief Engineer from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) were sworn in amidst a simple function held here at Punjab Bhawan.
With the appointments of Chairperson and Member, the Commission will work at its full capacity. The Commission as per the Electricity Act, 2003 performs various duties such as to determine tariff, transmission and wheeling charges and making Regulations, etc. The Commission plays a vital role in watching the interests of the consumers and utilities as well.
