Bholath: Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh on Saturday reacted sharply on the extension of Tax Holiday to the neighboring states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir by BJP led NDA government at the centre.

Rana said that it will adversely hit the prospects of industrial growth in Punjab. He said that it was a major setback for the state’s economy in general and industrialisation in particular. Rana Gurjit Singh said that the Punjab government will also take up this issue with the Central government.

“Modi government’s decision will severely ruin the prospects of industrial growth in Punjab, which is already facing a slump in industrial sector. We will approach the Modi government against this issue”, he said.

Interacting with the media persons after addressing a rally organised by Congress leaders who have recently left AAP, the minister said that AAP and its leaders neither have any ideology nor any commitment towards the people of the state. “AAP leaders are a bunch of ‘opportunists and ‘turncoats’, who can be never loyal to the people of the state”, he said.

On the request of local residents to start direct bus service from Bholath to Mata Chintpurni Shrine in Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jalandhar and Delhi, the minister announced that from Monday onwards, a direct bus service from Bholath to Jalandhar will be started.
