Court permits CM to travel abroad after filing surety bond

Mohali :Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh appeared in district court Mohali on Thursday for seeking permission to go abroad. Captain Amarinder filed a surety bond of Rs five lakh in the court and the court permitted the Chief Minister to travel abroad.

It may be mentioned here that Captain Amarinder Singh is going to Israel and UK from September 5 to 25.

Before this, Chief Minister had filed an application in the court seeking its permission in this regard. The court of Additional District and Session Judge allowed Capt Amarinder to travel abroad.

In UK, Capt Amarinder will launch his book, ‘Heroes of Saragarhi’, while he would attend an industrial summit in Israel.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Chief Minister is one of the 18 accused in the Amritsar Improvement Trust land scam. Its trial is on in the court here.

Meanwhile, Captain Amarinder, while interacting with media persons, said that the foreign tour will be his private tour and that it was not official.

He further informed that Punjab government will only consider Punjab-bonafide youngsters in job fairs and jobs will be only for youth of Punjab.

“There will be no consideration for people from other states in the job fairs,” he said.
