4member panel to monitor campaign against illicit drugs

CHANDIGARH: To monitor state’s anti-drugs campaign, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has constituted a steering committee to monitor and coordinate with all the departments concerned to implement drug de-addiction and rehabilitation programme.
The decision to set up the committee, headed by the chief secretary, was taken by the CM at a meeting of the State Board of Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation at Punjab Bhawan on Tuesday.
Principal secretary, health and family welfare; ADGP, special task force, additional chief secretary, higher education, secretary, welfare, and secretary, school education would be members of the committee.
