CPI opposes BJP candidate
New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Thursday urged voters to ensure the defeat of Akali-BJP candidate Swaran Salaria in the Gurdaspur byelection. Party chief Sudhakar Reddy said: “The CPI cadre will carry out a campaign against the SAD-BJP alliance.” He said the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre had made a mess of economy with its wrong priorities.
