Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has greeted people on Diwali with the hope that it would be the harbinger of progress and prosperity for one and all.
In his Diwali eve message, the Chief Minister exhorted the people to celebrate the festival of lights in an eco-friendly manner, without damaging the environment in any way.
“Let us also, on this auspicious occasion, remember those tens of thousands of our soldiers who protect our borders day and night to enable us to enjoy our festivities in peace,” the Chief Minister said. He urged the people to spare a thought for the poor who could not afford to revel in such celebrations and hoped that this Diwali would wipe out the darkness in their lives.
Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore along with the First Lady Alka Singh Badnore extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people in general and the officers and employees of Raj Bhawan in particular. Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana KP Singh, Cabinet ministers of Punjab, namely Brahm Mohindra, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Charanjit Singh Channi, Aruna Chaudhary and Razia Sultana, also extended their warm greetings to all the Punjabis living in the country as well as the members of the diaspora settled abroad on the holy eve of Diwali as well as Bandi Chhor Diwas.
