House panel summons DC Moga in alleged humiliation of Cong MLA

Chandigarh : House panel of Punjab Vidhan Sabha committee has summoned Deputy Commissioner, Moga, Dilraj Singh for November 7 to appear personally. MLA of Baghapurana Darshan Singh Brar had complained before the Vidhan Sabha Committee over alleged his humiliation by DC.

In another issue, on the complaint of Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira, three officers including Chief Executive Officer Ajoy Sharma, a Chief Engineer and an Executive Engineer appeared on Tuesday before the House panel in alleged disrespect case.

Out of three, two were heard by the panel while the third, Chief Engineer has been asked to appear on November 7 to present his version. Allegations levelled by Khaira were that despite fixing a visit over the issues in Bholath segment, the officers had not turned up and even had not shown respect while talking to him over the phone.

After the coming into power, the anger against bureaucracy has started to go high among the ruling MLAs. Few days ago, MLA of Baghapurana Darshan Singh Brar had turned emotional before the House panel. He had stated that Deputy Commissioner had allegedly left him in the visitor’s room for half an hour and later humiliated him before other persons, when he had gone there for some public works and even he had not been offered a chair. On the complaint of MLA Brar, the DC had been summoned.
