Ferozepur/Jalandhar – While the Finance Minister is claiming that the next generation will take pride in taking the action of demonetization, the Congress workers led by Chamkaur Singh Dhindsa, District Congress President on Wednesday staged protest outside Delhi Gate of Ferozepur City expressing concern over the plight of the common man after the demonetisation one year back by the Centre government. Besides shouting slogans against the Centre government, the present Congress leaders and workers also burnt in effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile in Jalandhar, Local MLAs including Pargat Singh, Rajinder Beri, Sushil Rinku, Bawa Henry and others held a protest against PM Modi in their respective constituencies and said that over 200 people lost their lives while scores of Indians lost their jobs in the wake of demonitisation. Last year, PM Modi had announced demonitisation on November 8 by stating that the existing Rs.500 and Rs 1,000 Indian currency would not remain legal tender anymore. The sudden announcement left the common man confused and the market witnessed a complete decline in the past one year, the congress leaders said. The congress leaders also questioned that common man was still ware waiting for Rs 15 lakh, which was promised by PM.
