Nawanshahr – Punjab Welfare, Printing and Stationery and Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said here on Friday that the state government would take strict action against officials, who erred in performing their duty, and connived with ineligible persons to get them the benefit of the government schemes like “Atta-Dal” and “Old-age Pension.”

The government has made recoveries from the people who had got benefit of these schemes illegally, said the minister while talking to media persons here. Dharamsot said that it was high time that the government servants work with diligence to ensure that the benefits under various state and centrally-sponsored schemes should reach eligible beneficiaries only.

He stated that dereliction of duty would not be tolerated by the Capt government. Dharamsot accused the previous SAD-BJP government of ignoring the interests of underprivileged sections of the Society during its 10 year rule. The Captain government had increased the amount under Ashirwad Scheme from RS 15,000 to Rs 21,000, maintained the minister. He said that this amount would further be increased to Rs 51,000. He claimed that link roads in rural areas of the state would be reconstructed within one year.
