Dharmsot assures PUCA for early release of PMS funds

Mohali – A delegation of Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) under the leadership of President, PUCA, Dr Anshu Kataria met with the Hon’ble Minister for Social Welfare, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and submitted a memorandum regarding the early release of Rs. 115 crore of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) funds. Minister assured the delegation that after getting the green signal from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Rs 115 crore would be soon released to those colleges for which the audit have been completed.

It is to be mentioned that Over RS 1.100 crore Of PMS of around 3 lakh SC students of Punjab is due towards the Centre government out of which Rs 115 crore has been released to the state govt, 325 crore is due for 2015-16 and 715 crore for 2016-17 and Rs 45 crore is the state liability. Dr Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA added that admissions for the year 2018-19 have also been started and more RS 500-600 crore would get due for this year also towards government.
