MLA catches snatcher, recovers woman’s bag

Ferozepur : Congress MLA Parminder Singh Pinki today nabbed a person who had snatched a mobile phone and a bag from a woman.
Sources said Pinki was passing by the Mall road area in the city when he saw a woman screaming after being targeted by some snatchers.
The MLA immediately stopped the vehicle and ran towards the snatchers along with his staff. He caught hold of one of them, while two others managed to escape on a motorcycle.
Gulshan Monga, an eyewitness, said the woman was coming from Model Town and when she reached near Hotel Aliza, one of the accused snatched her phone and purse. His two accomplices were waiting on a bike, he said.
“Incidentally, the MLA happened to be at the same location. Pinki was quick to act and he nabbed one of the accused and recovered the purse, while his two accomplices escaped with the mobile phone,” he said.
Pinki later called the police and sent the woman back to her house in his vehicle. Jasbir Singh, Station House Officer, Ferozepur City, said the accused had been identified as Gurjant Singh of Mamdot, adding that the police had launched a search for his two accomplices.
