The Amritsar Town Hall area will soon get a Lahore-like food street offering unique local flavours that will attract connoisseurs from around the world. Amritsar is known for its rich tradition and variety of food. Speaking at the inaugural event of the food festival being held at Gobindgarh Fort, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said, “A large number of tourists visit this place on a daily basis. It is important to promote food among the tourists. There should be a food street here on the lines of famous Lahore Food Street.”
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister also assured all government support to noted actor and producer Deepa Sahi, who comes from an Army background, for the development of the historic Gobindgarh Fort, which was opened to the public exactly a year.
