From page 01 LUDHIANA: Three person were booked for allegedly thrashing the son of Ward 25 councilllor on Wednesday night.

The accused, Rinkle of Amarpura Ram Nagar, Shinki of Islam Ganj and Jota of Mustaq Ganj, attacked Jatinderpal Singh, son of Congress councillor Gurdeep Singh Neetu, at Field Ganj on Tuesday. Jatinderpal Singh, along with his kids, had gone to a food joint at Field Ganj.

Jatinderpal Singh in his complaint stated that the accused even tossed his turban. The passerby and local raised alarm, following which his father arrived at the spot. But the accused managed to flee. After the incident, Jatinderpal Singh lodged a complaint at Division number 2 police station.

After the initial inquire, police have booked the accused and other unidentified person under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code.
