Chandigarh – Punjab government has allocated Rs 4,015 crore for health and family welfare services in the Budget proposal, which is 13 per cent more than last year. For infrastructure, Rs 776.53 crore has been earmarked which include equipment, diagnostics and free medicines for the patients. Rs 30 crore has been proposed for CM Cancer relief fund. In the Budget, Rs 24 crore has been earmarked for the strengthening of the Ayurvedic and Homeopathic dispensaries and construction of two Ayurvedic Hospitals. Rs 83.34 crore has been kept reserved for the upgradation of Medical Colleges Patiala, Amritsar and Faridkot, while Rs five crore has been earmarked for Dental Colleges at Patiala and Amritsar.
