Chandigarh – The central leadership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems to have isolated Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Kanwar Sandhu and Najar Singh Manshahia for adopting a rebellious stance on the party’s decision not to give autonomy to the state unit, while other MLAs have expressed their solidarity with the high command, that is, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in this regard. Khaira has repeated his stand of not going to Delhi to meet the high command and discuss the state related issues. Sources in the AAP said that the remaining 17 MLAs of the party have disassociated themselves from the issue of autonomy to the state unit.

Sources said that to divert the controversy to the ruling Congress or Akali Dal, the party is preparing a strategy, specifically on the drug issue. They said that the party can demand to hand over the probe of drug issues to the CBI against Khaira as he himself had demanded earlier. Sources said that the party is planning to add two or three more MLAs to the first line of its state leadership to avoid any challenge. The party high command is seeking feedback from some leaders and MLAs to check any untoward situation, which had occurred on March 23 on the issue of apologise by Kejriwal from Akali leader Bikram Singh Majitha.
