New Delhi, October 4: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Thursday met Union Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and protested that due to the Centre’s delay in taking decisions, the state was finding it hard to fill the gap in the food cash credit account

He said due to the non-settlement of the issues, there would be delay in sanctioning cash credit limit (CCL) for the paddy season.

He later said the minister had assured to release the balance reimbursement of Rs 500 crore towards the infrastructure development cess and purchase stock on wheat (rabi marketing season 2017-18). He had directed officials to clear Rs 400 crore of the pending Rs 857-crore subsidy under the National Food Security Act for the second and third quarter of this year on the CM’s request for the release of Rs 435 crore of custody and maintenance charge for paddy.

Gap in food cash credit account

The Chief Minister raised apprehension that due to the non-settlement of certain issues, there would be delay in the sanctioning of cash credit limit for the ongoing paddy procurement.
