SANGRUR: Veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Joginder Dayal said that Punjabis will not forgive former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal for the sacrilege incidents that took place in the state during their regime

“Punjabis hold the Badals responsible for the sacrilege incidents across state,” added Dayal. He was in Sangrur on Monday to review the preparations for Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union’s golden jubilee event that is scheduled in November.

“At present all parties are doing politics over the sacrilege cases and other issues are being ignored. The state government should address this issue on priority-basis and the culprits should be put behind the bars at the earliest,” said the nation council member of the CPI.

He said that the secular parties should come as a common front and defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
