LUDHIANA: Vidhan Sabha speaker Rana KP on Tuesday said he was yet to take a call on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader HS Phoolka’s resignation.
The Dakha MLA had put in papers to register his protest against the government’s failure in initiating action against culprits behind the Bargari sacrilege.
Rana KP, who was in Ludhiana’s Raqba village to attend the birth anniversary celebrations of Sikh military commander Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, said, “Phoolka sent his resignation through an email. We are looking into the technical aspect as protocol has not been followed in this case.” On the protest of radical hardliners in Bargari, KP said those thinking of disturbing peace and harmony in Punjab will not succeed in their “evil designs”. He also expressed concern over the failed plot to attack former CM Parkash Singh Badal and demanded a high-level probe into the matter.
The Vidhan Sabha speaker also donated ₹5 lakh to the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur foundation. Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, mayor Balkar Sandhu and former cabinet minister Malkit Singh Dakha were among those present at the event.
