DEOs, principals will be responsible for poor results, says OP Soni

CHANDIGARH : Punjab education minister OP Soni has put the responsibility of poor results of government schools on district education officers (DEOs) and principals. Presiding over a high-level meeting of DEOs, Soni said they should regularly check schools and ensure punctuality among teachers and other staff to ensure that the results improved. “The list of those schools, where buildings are unsafe and in dilapidated condition, should be sent immediately. These will be built in a year.
Examination centres should be set up keeping in mind that no student had to travel more than 3km,” he added.
