CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statements, in an interview to an agency, as a political gimmick to mislead people on the promises that he made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. “The Modi government has failed to live up to aspirations of the people. The interview was a mere cover-up exercise to hide failures and foibles of the party,” Mann said in a statement.

He accused the BJP-led NDA government of dividing the country on the basis of caste, colour and creed to grab power. Mann also slammed the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government in Punjab for playing a cruel joke with the farming fraternity by not addressing their problems with regard to promise of farm loan waiver.
