Patiala : Terming the role of youths as crucial in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, former Minister of State for External Affairs and Congress leader Preneet Kaur alleged that the BJP-led government at the Centre had done nothing for the state and its youths.
She was addressing the second meeting of party workers in Rajpura today. It was attended by newly elected panchayats and Congress workers from Rajpura, which was organised by MLA Hardyal Singh Kambhoj and Congress Shakti Project state president Nirbhay Singh Milti.
“We have started development works in Patiala as soon as our government came to power in the state and in the coming two years more such development works will be completed in the district, which the SAD-BJP government could not even plan in their 10-year tenure,” Preneet told the workers.
“Election of more youth leaders in panchayats will mean more new innovations and ideas in development of villages and also more future leaders for the party,” she said.
On Monday she addressed a similar meeting in Patran where she told the newly elected panchayats to pull up their socks and start working for the success of the Congress in the Lok Sabha polls.
Party insiders said the former MP was on a spree to tour the entire Lok Sabha constituency.
In Phagwara, the former minister said the Congress would form the next government at the Centre and win all 13 LS seats in the state in the General Election. She was here to attend “Lohri Dhian Di” function organised by NGO World Wide Scope Welfare Society.
