Mai Bhago Scheme: Soni distributes cycles to 256 girls

AMRITSAR: Punjab school education minister OP Soni on Monday distributed 256 bicycles to girl students under Mai Bhago Scheme at Government Senior Secondary School, NawanKot, here on Monday.
He quoted this step of the state government as a help to girls coming from far flung areas.
Soni said the motive of the state government is to provide quality education to students by all means. The education department officials have been instructed to visit schools twice a week and do considerable improvements, he said.
“A total of 3,326 bicycles will be distributed to girl students of Government schools of Classes 11 and 12 in Amritsar (central) assembly constituency”, he said. He said the state government is distributing furniture worth 23 crore to primary schools.
