CHANDIGARH : Punjab cooperation minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, on Sunday, asked former minister in the Akali-BJP government Bikram Singh Majithia to clarify on the source of funds for the donation given to farmer Budh Singh.

He also demanded an investigation from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), if Majithia failed to show that the money was from a lawful source.

“Majithia is not part of the government and till now has failed to disclose the source of the money,” he added.

He also questioned the fact that Majithia has given ₹3.86 lakh to the farmer, when the loan amount was ₹1.76 lakh.

“The Akali leader must explain to the people that why he picked a farmer from another area and could not find any family to help in his own constituency. His actions indictate how he has deceived the people of his own constituency for his personal political gains,” the minister added.
