CHANDIGARH:A day after he took on his own government inside the house accusing it of being “in cahoots with the Akalis”, jails minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Tuesday said the arrest of IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal was not enough for the police firing at protesters at Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura.

The minister said in order to soothe the wounded feelings of the Sikh community, action against those who ordered the firing was also needed. “Both then CM Parkash Singh Badal and then home minister Sukhbir Badal must be booked under Section 302,” he said.

He also came out in open support of local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu questioning Badal’s demand for registration of sedition case against Sidhu. “The Congress doesn’t need certificate on patriotism from the Akalis. Those who tore apart copies of the Indian Constitution are now by masquerading as nationalists. During militancy days, Badal attended bhog ceremonies of terrorists,” he said.

He also dared the Akalis to brand its ally BJP a traitor for releasing terrorist Maul ana MasoodAzhar20y ears back.
