Chandigarh : Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today approved the new service rules to give post-retirement extension in service to government employees for up to two years. A notification in this regard will be issued later this week. Official sources said the new rules would become applicable from this month, which means employees retiring at the end of the current month could opt for an extension in service.

They said even the UT administration, which had been following Punjab service rules, could implement the new rules. But it would have to take the nod of the Union Government in this regard.
