The state govt has been apathetic in implementing the Integrated Housing and Slum Area development scheme also. Funds under the Rajiv Awas Yojna were siphoned off through political workers of the ruling alliance at the cost of eligible beneficiaries.
The state govt has not responded to requests for sharing the information on the implementation of center funded welfare schemes with the Leader of the opposition in the state Assembly, he regretted.
Jakhar pleaded that 30 percent of the total population in Punjab belonged to dalit sections; they should be given better attention while drafting the next budget proposals.
