DHURI (SANGRUR): Congress MLA and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Arvind Khanna visited various villages of Dhuri assembly segment and listened to the grievances of the people.
Lashing out at the SAD-BJP government, the PPCC General Secretary said instead of fulfilling the promises the government has resorted to punitive tax regime policy making it difficult for common man to make both ends meet.
“The welfare schemes are limited to paperwork only due to lack of funds. Punjab is heading towards financial emergency and the state government has proved to be a total failure on all fronts,” Khanna said.
He also expressed his concern over government’s apathy over increasing trend of drug-addiction amongst the Punjabi youths and the lack of law and order in the state.
Assuring the people, he said, even though the Congress party was not able to form the government in Punjab, he will always be at the service of Dhuri’s electorate who had elected him as their representative in Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
Khanna said his sole motive was the development of Dhuri and he will raise the problems faced by the people during the upcoming assembly session.
Talking about his NGO Umeed Foundation, Khanna said free medical facilities will be provided in all the villages and cities under Dhuri assembly segment apart from organizing free medical camps with the help of renowned specialists so that everyone can avail free medical aid.
Umeed foundation is also running a job placement office for the youth of area, the head office of the placement agency is at Sangrur.
Khanna further disclosed that over 1,200 youths have been provided job through Umeed foundation.
