CHANDIGARH: The Dal Khalsa has demanded that Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal should be divested from the Home portfolio as he has bitterly failed in maintaining the law and order in the state.

Condemning the broad day light cold blooded murder of ASI Ravinderpal Singh in the hands of the Akali leader Ranjit Singh Rana, the party’s spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh and general secretary Dr Manjinder Singh said the goonda culture prevailing in the state was offshoot of the change in complexion of the SAD under the leadership of Badals since last 15 years. “Badals were responsible for changing the basic character of the Shiromani Akali Dal”, they alleged.

Recently, Nishan Singh also associated with local Akali leadership took away the girl from her home forcibly after thrashing her parents and now Akali leader shot dead the ASI because the latter attempted to protect the honour of his daughter, speaks that “the power has gone to the heads of youth activists within Akali rank and file and there was no one to rein in such hooligans”, they rued.

The shameful incidents of Faridkot and Amritsar both were reflection of goonda culture being promoted and patronized by Sukhbir and his coterie.

The membership card of the SAD or SYAD (Youth Akali Dal) was itself a license to do all immoral and illegal acts, said they. The leaders expressed their condolences and grief with the family members of the victim.
