CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress MLAs plan to stage a candle-light march at sector-17 Plaza on Thursday evening in protest against the ‘undemocratic treatment’ meted out to Congress MLAs by the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP government as well as Speaker of the assembly, Charanjit Singh Atwal.

Leader of the opposition, Sunil Jakhar said that the party MLAs will gather at UT state Guest House in sector-6 at 5:30 pm and thereafter, they would proceed towards the Plaza in sector-17 and organize a candle protest.

It may be recalled that senior Congress leader Rana Gurjit Singh was suspended from Punjab assembly on Wednesday for the remainder of the session for his alleged use of un-parliamentary language against revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia.
