Amritsar : The voices against Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia have become shriller following the assault on police officer SS Mand by Youth Akali Dal leaders at Ludhiana.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Sukhjinder Raj Singh Lalli Majithia, president intellectual cell, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, said Majithia should resign on moral grounds as the "onus of lawlessness by Youth Akali Dal leaders lies with him."

He alleged that during the assembly elections, Maninder Pal Singh alias Sunny Johar, Rishi Banda and Amandeep Singh had let loose a reign of terror on Congress workers in the Majitha constituency. "They had got a false case registered against my family members at that time," he said, showing a copy of the FIR to prove his charge.

He demanded a CBI inquiry into Majithia's role in land and sand mafia.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
