Chandigarh : The Punjab Transport Department today called off its e-tender for hiring private buses to be engaged for its fleet of PUNBUS. Aspiring operators alleged e-tendering had been called off to facilitate certain parties.

Sumer Singh Gurjar, Director, Transport, said: "There was a technical glitch due to which we received complaints from different quarters. There were only four bidders in the fray. We are hiring a private party so we will like to give opportunity to as many bidders as possible. Fresh e-tendering is scheduled for February 28".

A bidder said: "The tendering process was to be held online. If there were complaints of technical glitch, we should have been informed earlier”.
