MOGA: Cautioning people of Moga against letting the Akalis to grab their precious constituency, former Punjab Youth Congress president and Anandpur Sahib MP Ravneet Singh Bittu today said that the Akalis had never opposed or condemned the attacks of terror.

While campaigning for the party candidate Vijay Sathi, Bittu accompanied by senior party leaders paid rich tributes to the 18 martyrs who were killed by the terrorists in 1989 while they were going for a morning walk.

“I want to ask the Akali leaders as why they have always kept quiet about the incidents of terror”, he said, while pointing out, “leave aside condemning the terror acts like the killing of innocent people they have never even opposed these acts”.

Bittu, the grandson of former Chief Minister late Beant Singh who was assassinated by the terrorists urged the people not to forget the sacrifices of thousands of people who laid down their lives for the peace and harmony in the state.

Cautioning the people of Moga against wasting their vote for those who had no sympathy for the victims of terrorism, he appealed them to ensure that the Congress candidate gets elected from Moga to send a clear message against terror and against those who do not oppose them.

Bittu was accompanied by senior party leaders including Milkiat Singh Dakha, KK Bawa, Manjit Singh Hambran and other senior youth Congress leaders. They also took an oath against terrorism and resolved that they will not allow the sacrifices of great leaders like late Beant Singh and Ms Indira Gandhi go waste.
