MOGA: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today revealed that the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal wanted share in the Nestle company, which was declined to him. With the result, he disclosed, Sukhbir unleashed a reign of harassment in different ways against the company leading to its operations getting restricted.

In an informal conversation with reporters during his road show in different areas of the city here today, organised in support of the party candidate Vijay Sathi, the former Chief Minister revealed that he had learnt from reliable sources that Sukhbir tried to grab share in the Nestle business. As the company spurned his overtures, the state government officials started harassing their vendors and suppliers.

He said, with the result the Nestlé’s operations have come down by more than half. He said, the company was now planning to set up business in neighbouring states. He said, suppliers from Haryana, Rajasthan were being subjected to harassment and they had now stopped supplying milk to Nestle.

Capt Amarinder said, this was the typical modus operandi of the Badals, particularly Sukhbir who has an eye every profitable business in the state. He said, he grabbed the entire transport business of the state in the same way. He pointed out, the bus operators from other states had to seek judicial intervention as Sukhbir’s officials did not allow the buses from other states to ply here so that his Orbit and Dabwali Transport gets all the business.

The former Chief Minister regretted that the Badals’ greed had no end and now they had started eyeing the milk business of the Nestle just because Sukhbir thinks that it will generate him big money. He said, with Nestle gradually moving out of Moga, the city and the surrounding areas’ economy will get a hit. “And that is precisely what Sukhbir wants”, he said, while adding, he would start his own business to make money.

He said, it was precisely the same manner Sukhbir rendered other transporters of the state jobless while the state transport ran into losses. “They are not bothered about the people but only themselves”, observed, while pointing out, that is the reason why Punjab is getting poorer and the Badals are getting richer.

Making a fervent appeal to the voters of Moga to vote for Vijay Sathi, he pointed out, here again the choice is between an honest, upright and well qualified candidate who had observed highest principles of probity in public life and owns a house of a few hundred squares yards, while on the other hand there is a virtually illiterate man who is known for everything except integrity.
