MOGA: The activists of the National Students’ Union of India and the Punjab Youth Congress took out a candle light procession here last night to garner support for the party candidate Vijay Sathi, under the leadership of Arvind Khanna, MLA Dhuri and general secretary attached to the PCC President.

Holding candles and party flags in hands, the youth and student activists went through different markets canvassing for the party’s support. Khanna said, the students and the youth of the party wanted to highlight the wrong policies of the government besides the political betrayal committed by Joginderpal Jain.

The Congress general secretary said, candle light march was a unique way to bring to the notice of the people and highlight the issue that had necessitated the byelection as also urging people to vote for the right candidate.

Besides, he said, the party wanted to draw the attention of the public towards the failures of the government.

Among others who participated in the candle light procession included PYC president Vikramjit Chaudhary, NSUI Punjab president Gobind Khatra, PYC general secretary Kamaljeet Brar and others.
