CHANDIGARH: Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Arjan Kumar Sikri, is set be elevated to Supreme Court.

As per sources, his name has been cleared by the Supreme Court collegium and only official formalities need to be completed. The entire procedure is expected to take over a month.Born on March 7, 1954, Justice Sikri, completed B. Com (honours) from Shriram College, Delhi University, he completed his LLB from Law faculty in University of Delhi in 1977.

He was awarded gold medal for attaining first position in LLB in DU. He was also awarded special prize for getting highest marks in the Constitutional Law. Appointed a judge of Delhi High Court on July 7, 1999, Sikri is known to have delivered landmark judgements.

Being President of the Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, he was also a member of the varsity's Academic Council.

He served as vice-president of the Delhi High Court Bar Association during 1994-95.

He was designated as a senior advocate by the Delhi High Court in 1997, before being appointed as a Judge in 1999.

He took over as Chief Justice Punjab and Haryana High Court on September 23, 2012.
