Chandiagrh : Pradesh Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, in a statement issued here today, alleged that Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal had failed to improve law and order as Home Minister and had proved a disaster as Sports Minister as well.

“The man, who goes about claiming a mega success by organising politicised kabbadi matches, has failed to honour his commitments as Sports Minister.

“Although a whopping Rs 11 crore of tax payers' money was spent on the flamboyant Bollywood star-studded opening and closing ceremonies of the Kabbadi World Cup, he has no time, interest or money to promote sports in Punjab,” Bajwa alleged.

The SAD-BJP Government had failed to confer awards, including Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award, on outstanding sportspersons since 2006, he said. “Badal Junior organised Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh State Games in April 2011, promising to make these games an annual feature. He conveniently forgot his promise after the 2012 poll,” Bajwa added.
