CHANDIGARH: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari criticized Punjab government for complete failure of law and order in state. His statement came in the wake of killing of an ASI on Jalandhar-Phagwara highway while performing his duty.

Tewari accused Parkash Singh Badal led SAD-BJP government of perpetrating and encouraging complete anarchy and lawlessness in the state.

"It would be far more advisable that rather than going to Goa to deliberate about what is going to happen in 2014, the Akali Dal-BJP combined starts paying attention to the law and order situation in Punjab because there is complete lawlessness and anarchy, which is prevailing in the state,” he said.

ASI Gurdev Singh was shot dead outside ‘Haveli’ restaurant by unknown miscreants in white Verna car while he was on a night patrol.
