CHANDIGARH: Expressing cavernous concern for the recent hike in prices of health services in Punjab, Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar said that ‘Bankrupted’ SAD-BJP government had started sucking the blood of poor people by enhancing prices of health services manifold. Above has also punctured their tall claims of facilitating better and affordable health services to already suppressed poor of the state.
Earlier Akalis ceased various facilities to poor and Dalits and now with the rise in prices for health service, BPL families will be at the receiving end. It’s high time for SAD-BJP government to awake and they should do ‘chintan’ and come with remedies for the problems being faced by poor and needy of the state at its Goa Chintan Shivir.
They being under the pressure of private medical lobby have enhanced the health services rates while hike in X-Ray rates, medical tests as per market rates besides increasing charges for the general ward, admission Fees, ambulance and operation charges would directly and adversely affect the already suppressed lower middle as well as people below the poverty line.
Huge cache of funds are facilitated by Congress led UPA government for the health services in Punjab but due to mismanagement and ill-polices on the part of SAD-BJP government, natives of state are suffering from various perilous disease like Cancer.
The hike in health service rates should be immediately roll backed or they will compel the government to come to knees to accept their demand in the wider interest of poor of the state.
