CHANDIGARH: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Partap Singh Bajwa today demanded to give jobs in equal rank to the kin of three Punjab Police ASIs killed recently by miscreants.In a statement here.Bajwa said that he visited families of two ASIs in Fatehgarh Sahib and Kapurthala and was shocked to know that state government has not offered any compensation and jobs to their families.

He said that Gurdev Singh ASI who was killed in Phagwara was doing his duty without official revolver which he had lost and an FIR was lodged. Police had neither traced the lost gun not provided him new one.Bajwa said that when ASI Ravinderpal Singh was killed in Amritsar by members of youth Akali Dal, he had visited the grief stricken family and demanded job for the daughter of the ASI.

He said that under tremendous pressure, Punjab Government had offered job of Naib Tehsildar to daughter of Ravinder Pal Singh. He said that same criteria be adopted for the other three ASIs who sacrificed lives while performing official duty.He said that if jobs were not given to family members of slain police officials, the morale of police would fell down.

He said that Punjab police was passing through difficult times due to political pressure and emergence of mafia raj in the state.

Bajwa had visited family of slain ASI Gurdev Singgh yesterday.
