New PPCC team to be announced by end of May: Bajwa

JALANDHAR: PPCC President Partap Singh Bajwa said today that the new team of the PPCC would be announced by the May after he completed the tour of all the districts of the state.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the party workers conference at the Desh Bhagat Yaadgar hall here today Bajwa said that his first and foremost priority was to strengthen the state unit of the congress in view of the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year. He said that he had completed the tour of 10 districts and reviewed the functioning of the district units of the party.

He said that the Lok Sabha polls would be held on time in 2014 for which he gave a clarion call to the party-men to tsart mobilizing public against the misdeeds of the SAD-BJP government led by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy chief minister son Sukhbir Singh Badal sole agenda of whom is only to mull money at the cost of the state and its people.

Lashing out heavily on the Badals, PPCC chief said that the promises made by the SAD in its election manifesto had become a document of dustbin as the government had failed to deliver goods to the people as promised during the elections to regain power.

Referring to law and order situation in the state Bajwa said that what would be the fate of that state which got its four ASIs slain in the uniform by the goons supported by the SAD leadership besides thrashing of senior police officers and woman in full public view.

He said it would be a matter of shame that the Supreme Court had to take cognizance of the case of thrashing a girl in Tarn Taran.

Taking a dig at the Goa Vichar Manthan camp of the SAD, Bajwa said that the SAD had spent an huge sum of Rs.10 crore to ferry the SAD-BJP leaders to Goa on a chartered flight. He said that the SAD had been convening its introspective meetings earlier in the Teja Singh Samundri Hall and now had held its meeting in Goa surrounded by sea and the next is likely to be convened across the sea.
