Bajwa to meet Sonia Gandhi on Sarabjit Singh’s issue

LUDHIANA: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Partap Singh Bajwa today expressed serious concern over attack on Sarbjit Singh Indian prisoner in Pakistan jail and assured his family full support by the center government.

In a statement Bajwa said that he would on Monday along with other party MPs meet the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi to take up the case of Sarabjit Singh’s security and treatment with the concerned quarters.

He said that safety of Sarabjit Singh was responsibility of Pakistan government since his appeal for mercy to the President of Pakistan is still pending.

Bajwa said that Indian government is seized of the matter. He requested the Prime Minister to take up with Pakistan Government, the release of Sarabjit Singh on humanitarian ground. He prayed for fast recovery of Sarabjit Singh.
