Sukhbir hails assurance by Aussie PM on turban

Chandigarh : Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal today welcomed the assurance by Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard to the Sikh community for allowing them to wear turban at work places and while driving motorbikes in Australia.
In a statement, Sukhbir claimed the repeated efforts by his party on the issue had started showing results. He said the assurance was a good sign for the entire Sikh community for getting their right of wearing turban in government offices and other working places on foreign lands accepted.
Badal said it was a positive move of the Australian government for strengthening relations with the Sikh community.
