CHANDIGARH: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari today said that Madhopur, where Narendra Modi held his first public rally after becoming the chairman of the BJP’s campaign committee, will mark the beginning of the final end of the National Democratic Alliance.

“While the process of decline for NDA started the day Modi took over the reins of the BJP, the final end will begin from Madhopur”, he said while asked to comment on Modi’s rally in Madhopur in Pathankot district of Punjab on Sunday.

Tewari, who represents Ludhiana parliamentary constituency in Punjab, recalled that the NDA had held its last 2009 election rally in Ludhiana and it had actually marked the beginning of the decline of the NDA as people of Ludhiana gave them a befitting reply and resisted to be trapped as he won by a record margin of over one lakh and twenty thousand votes.

As in 2009, so will people of Punjab do it now, he remarked, while adding, "all these powers that make the NDA, they had held their last rally in 2009 in my parliamentary constituency (Ludhiana) and the people of Ludhiana gave them a befitting reply...and, it is good that they are beginning from Pathankot (Madhopur), their decline would begin from Pathankot."
